  and re: UT: to be fair it was designed to "feel like mother/earthbound" so it's bound to mimic some stylistic choices as well (incl. many audio samples). plus, toby fox made other work he recycled from himself, including an earlier earthbound fangame. add to that deliberate obscure reference and it's a grand clustserfuck
  
  on the third hand, both "ghost battle" and the first part of the track here are probably what one would end up with if you'd want to write a "whatever people now perceive as what 1920s flappers would dance to" track

• is it me or does the first part of the soundtrack sound vaguely like "ghost battle" from the undertale OST? the main phrase here is pretty similar to the second half of the main melody of "ghost battle", at least to my ears
