- demo MS-Dos Windows MS-Dos/gus emergency by Disaster Area [web]
- Got me some nostalgic dos feelings, love the aesthetic and sound, demo was a bit stronger in the beginning than the end but still wish it was longer!

- Thanks for the all the kind words! Until the intro ran in the compo I really wasn't sure if it'd work, if it'd be more than the sum of its parts, or if I had sacrificed too much in the process of taking it to 4k.
I just uploaded the final version, capture and nfo, so check it out if you havent already :)
Regarding the fps, the party zip I uploaded in partymeister had multiple executables in it for testing purposes, due to my elite naming scheme the executable that was shown during the compo didn't have the frame limiter enabled, that's on me though, should've uploaded a separate zip, used better naming or left an orga-note.
cons: virgills (already optimized) soundtrack was ~540 bytes larger than mine, we're talking compressed size here, I'm raw dogging the soundtrack on the gpu to make it fit, it was this or no third act, regardless of how I spun it, all components of this intro are at the limit of what can be trimmed away without it falling apart, but hey if you can tell me where to find 540 bytes here I'm all ears, with that many bytes more I could've made the intro twice as long :P - isokadded on the 2025-05-06 17:43:19

- I didn't feel this when it dropped, I wasn't at the release party, instead I sat at home being sick, watching the stream on my little laptop screen thinking "meh... it's just two spheres" however when this ran in the demoshow of this years deadline I stopped coding and sat down in front of the big-screen to get the full experience, and the full experience I got.
Hats off, well deserved 1st place and subsequent Meteoriks. - rulezadded on the 2024-10-19 13:54:51

Yours is 5kB, bike is 8kB... why the heck orgs didn't merge 4k up to 16kB together... that would be much more... interesting than putting you all into 64kB bucket loud and clear...
Because it'd be rather unfair to a full(>=3 entries) 4k compo to have to compete with bigger sizes? Also that'd leave the two 64ks to compete in the PC Demo compo, which would suck for them.
To the actual release:
nice colors and patterns but I wish it had more progression than pattern and color permutation, also the cool technical foundation doesn't show through, in my mind it'd have had a lot more potential. Overall does work quite well for me though, and the "reflective" look in the later section helps keeping it interesting. The soundtrack is a much needed breeze of fresh air in the 4k game, not quite sure the kicks punch hard enough to fulfill the lofty claims made by their author ;P
Oh and ofc: should be 4k :P - rulezadded on the 2024-10-08 16:21:22
