goodbye guys
As one of the Demosplash organizers since the beginning, thanks for all the prods you've submitted to us over the years. We'll miss you, come back anytime. - rulezadded on the 2021-11-18 06:15:01

- This was really cool and fun to watch. It was fun talking to you at @party and I hope we see you at Demosplash!

- VIDE in "performance mode" is probably as good as you'll get in an emulator at the moment. The music doesn't sound perfect but the demo at least runs at the correct speed. It's what we used on the projector at the party since nobody had a camera suitable for pointing at the real Vectrex. We'll be trying to film it on the real Vectrex in the coming weeks, we're still getting caught up on sleep after a long weekend of party coding ;-)

- demo Wild The Golden Age of Fujitsu Micro (FM Towns)
- It's always great to see a first prod on a platform, and this demo is fun too. The bouncy balls and rubber duckie are hilarious :-)

- 64k Vectrex Where Have All The Pixels Gone? by Carnegie Mellon Computer Club [web]
- Here's the story of why the Nyan Cat music is in the wrong key: The Nyan Cat was added to the demo shortly before the compo submission deadline. The rest of the music in the prod is from C-Jeff, but we couldn't find AY Nyan Cat.
To handle this, dkozel found random sheet music online and translated it into some tracker (It's been 5 years, I don't remember which one) but misread the key signature since it was late at night and we were all tired We have somebody in the group who's pretty serious about music (to the point of making his own oboe reeds, playing in musicals, etc.) but he was busy with other things so the mistake didn't get noticed until late and we had things to worry about other than out-of-tune Nyan Cat, like a last minute Vectrex display integrator recalibration.
Anyhow, hope people enjoyed a bit of cmucc storytime, and we're hoping we can do another demo for this cool platform someday. Vectrex is a fun piece of hardware and we think we could do better, and at least some of us miss writing demos (seriously, it's been 5 years since the iLisa at Assembly). - isokadded on the 2017-11-19 01:15:33
- intro Windows Pouring Baileys on All the Cocoa Puffs I Have Left Anymore
- Very trippy. You kinda have to know the author of this prod to appreciate it, but it was a fun time.

- demo Wild Don't mess with Texas by Desire [web]
- Great work! It's fantastic to see a real demo for the 99/4a, we'll definitely be screening this at Demosplash 2017. This is a platform I always wished would get more attention - the TMS9900 is a cool CPU, but I imagine the hacky and cheap hardware design of the rest of the machine makes it not much fun to develop for.

- Thumb for TI-99/4a. We'll have to try to show this one at Demosplash next year. As for the hardware, TMS9900 was a nice 16 bit CPU with some interesting features (it was basically a single-chip TI 990 minicomputer), the problem with the 99/4a is that they stuck it on an 8 bit bus, and a lot of software for it was written in an interpreted language called "GPL" (no relation to the free software license), the interpreter for which was stored in slow serial ROMs. This included the BASIC interpreter, meaning that any BASIC code was interpreted twice. Apparently if you write in straight assembly it's a reasonably fast machine.

- demo Windows Trippy by pluto00987
- This was a really cool demo, sorry we didn't get it added to pouet sooner. This demo only missed #1 by one point, and was the organizers' pick for best prod.
