- demo Atari STe Pixel Dreams by Bohemian Grove
- Doesn't work for me at all. AI generated or not, the lyrics are lame, the pictures are bland, everything is far too random to get anywhere.
So, someone tried, been there, done that. Now move on, please. - isokadded on the 2024-12-31 13:36:17
- musicdisk Atari Falcon 030 Back To The ST by Bohemian Grove
- AI generated or not, the text made me smile and it triggered Foebane72 who confuses this site with an Amiga fanboy-forum a bit too often so i'm good with it.

- This is nice. Very nice.

- demo Atari XL/XE Unleashed by Radiance
- Seems as if every SillyVenture causes scene drama:
Last year it caused the "demoscene hardware standard committee", this year it's the "effect credit police" (sigh).
I like the very colourful plasma-like effects, the uvmap is shown too often for my taste - i would have appreciated a bit more variety. The music, however, starts off a bit weird but then really carries the whole demo. Excellent job. - rulezadded on the 2024-12-27 15:37:48
- demo Linux Windows MacOSX Intel 1976 by Damage
- This is very impressive (graciously ignoring the "Atari" pun):
Very impressive visuals.
The amount of details, the care taken for the 3D models, the way it's put together - the scenes are a bit random but that doesn't spoil it at all.
Very impressive music.
I understand some of the comments that say it doesn't fit in all parts, but i think it underlines the demo well and provides consistency where the visuals, probably, don't.
Very impressive size.
Now i know modern demos are not being measured that way any longer but i am old and i am sensitive for these things. A demo that is about the same size as its high quality 4K YouTube capture and demands even more horsepower to run it than to replay the YouTube capture simply feels a bit wrong.
But i watched it three times in a row which rarely happens these days, so: Thumbs up! - rulezadded on the 2024-12-27 15:24:38
- wild Atari ST 88 Seconds Of Fame by Paradox [web]
- Thank you all for your kind words.
I've updated the archives already linked to. The timing was slightly but measurably off when running from disk or from the MSA file.
I have corrected this now. - isokadded on the 2024-12-14 14:31:47
- demo Atari STe The Coders' Guide To The Demoscene by Acid Team [web] & Jakub Husak
- Quote:
4MB STe and HDD is now demoscene standard, if you're like it or not.
Says who? The committee for demoscene hardware standards? Or just you?
Quote:Something more than another dancing bars, scroll or rotating dott ball.
Not a very strong point to defend a demo that contains lots of dot effects (including rotating dot objects).
That aside, this thing has its highs and lows. I appreciate a story-driven demo, but the story line is a bit thin and i don't really like that comic ending. The pictures look good (whichever way they have been created) but seem a bit too random to transport the story and the soundtrack - despite a few catchy phases - doesn't save it for me either.
But i do mind the size. 30MB to see still images, text and effects i have seen numerous times before, just this time in fullscreen? I'm probably not the right target audience for that.
But i do appreciate the effort and i do think there's some unused potential, so i am still looking very forward to watching your next release. - isokadded on the 2024-08-27 23:19:46
- demo Atari STe Time by Bitbendaz
- Nice! Nice! Nice! Very well presented - i really like the music and the graphics - a good list of well executed effects and technically rock solid.
Me likes! Me likes a lot! - rulezadded on the 2024-08-22 22:12:18
- demo Windows The Legend of Sisyphus by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- With all this controversy going on i barely dare to post my comment here, but if Pouet isn't the place to do so, then which is?
This is extremely impressive. It clearly shows the effort and dedication put into this and i simply drown in the sheer amount of details it keeps throwing at me. If there is a reason to run a demo in a 4k resolution, it's got to be this.
A true piece of art.
That said, it does seem to lack focus, at least in the middle part, where i start to feel lost. This is most probably intentional and it might only be me, but having no clue what i am actually supposed to make of all the visuals and vocals did have its impact on the "wowness" of this master piece.
Is this amazing? Oh yes! Is it art? Among the finest. Is it the future of demos? It probably is. Will i watch it again? No. - rulezadded on the 2023-08-24 10:23:42
