- diskmag Windows Hugi #35 - Disruption in Chaos Theory by Hugi [web]
- haven't read the mag yet, so i'm not going to give a rating, but i have read THAT article.
first of all, it looks like it was written by an 8 year old. terrible grammar, abysmal sentence structuring and a total lack of ability to convey any coherent thought. the first two issues could be forgiven considering the "author" is not a native speaker of the english language (most of us aren't here)... the third issue is indicative of the fact that the writer most likely isn't very intelligent himself. well that, or he really is 8, which i doubt.
about the content: regardless if one agrees with the "points" the author made in his article or not, i think we can all agree that this type of garbage should definitely not belong in the scene. ffs people want to get away from all this shitty separatism and other real world issues when they're doing scene related stuff, at least i do. it's so great to see people from various countries coming together at parties, dicking around with each other and enjoying demos and other geeky shit together. it's a cheesy sentiment, but if a revolting, vomit inducing piece of garbage like this article could find it's way into our extremely small society then this has to be said as well.
make no mistake it's extremely obvious that the only reason this article was published is to stir up controversy. see the way this works is you publish something obviously outrageous, people will fall for the bait and post about their outrage (kinda like i do now), you get a 170+ post thread, excellent advertisement and now everyone wants to read THAT article, and when they do, most likely they'll read the rest of the articles in the mag as well, now you got yourself a reader who if it wasn't for your shitty article would've never even known about your mag.
btw
Quote:I blame myself for not paying attention to this article; 'article about intelligence' ok I thought..
this implies that you haven't even read the article that you ok'd. first of all, from a journalistic point of view this would be worse than doing what i described. but i don't think this was the case. i think you guys knew full well the impact this article will cause, why else would you have that disclaimer in place at the beginning?
i don't think i could ever bring myself to thumb down a diskmag, i think what you guys are doing is fantastic, but when you pull shit like this it makes it harder and harder to support you guys for your otherwise hard work. - isokadded on the 2008-11-05 00:48:15
