- demo JavaScript The BIGintro by Punkfloyd [web] & !!M & Zuul [web]
- Hola!
This production is our contribution to the new edition of demoJS2012
With !!M et Zuul we would like to show our respect/love to the oldschool'spirit, so we use our dear Charly in this so-called megademo!
By the way, big respect to the Union, 6719, ES, Micky, TCB and Madmax for the original mainmenu from the Union demo ; you'll be always in my heart.
We spent lot of fun to make this one real and we are proud of the result ; yep men.
Thanks to Maracuja & Rom#1 : we hope you're not affraid by the punkies'style of making demo (^^)
(just the) tip:
If you would like to make a demo but you are like us, a fraking lazy bastard, call some friends, share a beer et plan to dominate the demoscene working together.
It works.
Not for the domination, but for the demo & fun.
Cheers demomakers'friends _o/ - isokadded on the 2012-07-01 15:50:30
- demo NEC TurboGrafx/PC Engine Shipping is a feature by Punkfloyd [web]
- Hi people,
Firstly, thanks for all the comments, good or bad, they're always interesting to read.
About the music, we agree : an oldschool demo with no music is boring.
But last year at the MAINPARTY, we've had a rather sad experience.
It was our first demoparty and we worked hard to make a first demo, but without any experience and not enough time, the production wasn't released.
We spent a very good time there, but we were also very disappointed not to release our demo.
For the Buenzli, we decided to make our first real demo but, silly idea, we started the demo only 18 days before the party.
We worked hard and kept working there, until just before the deadline, but we encountered a problem with playing music : some screens would just crashed then.
We had three options:
1 - not to release
2 - release with music but with buggy screens,
3 - drop the music and keep the demo with working screens.
The first option was unimaginable. We chose this option last year and didn't want to make the same mistake.
The second one was a serious option but we've had been working very hard to get screens we liked. Honestly, we were very proud of these screens and decided not to have them crash
So, we chose to release without music.
We knew the demo would be rather handicapped with no sound, but we chose to do so nonetheless.
And you know what ?
We are very happy about this decision :)
Your heart beats to fast you think you're going to die.
Your mind can't believe it is YOUR demo playing on the big screen.
Your hands shake so much, you can't stop them.
And, at least, the fraking smile doesn't want to leave your face when, at the end of the demo, you hear some people shout, hoping they liked it.
You feel alive, fraking alive.
And my gods, you don't want it to stop.
This (long) comment is not an apology or a justification, it's only a way to tell that the experience was so high that the only thing we can think about after is to do more demos, learn more and spend more good moments in demoparties.
Demomaking is fraking good.
And for the next demo, we'll start early, promised ^^
Cheers, demomakers friends.
