- demo Amiga AGA Miracles by Stellar [web]
- Yep, but the song is still good, although Groo felt that way. He probably did not understand how a song can be good ALTHOUGH the masses like it.. a good song doesn't necessarily have to be 'weird' to be 'artistic' or 'genuine'. All it needs is the composer's innocense and enthusiasm which results in creating energy and excitement in the song. It doesn't matter after that is achieved, however cliché the song structure itself is. This song isn't very boring, as it could be if the composer had sold his soul to the mass-market. So the important stuff is still there in this song, so Groo was worried for nothing.

- dentro Amiga OCS/ECS Dentro II by Domination
- Was this ever shown on the screen? Or was this the one that did not work in the organizer's Amiga? I think in that case this might feature a small logo by me! (:

- demotool BeOS Windows Amiga AGA Amiga PPC/RTG MacOSX Intel HivelyTracker by Illi Recentes ImperatoreS & Up Rough [web]
- This is a GREAT tracker, I tried and tested it, made my own instruments with it and am loving all of it! Works great with WinUAE and OS3.1 by the way. So anyone with a fast enough PC and an OS that supports UAE in some form (I can't imagine an OS that didn't..) can give it a try! Now go composing and fill the internet with magical Hivelytracker tunes! That's what I intend to do..
(Deepest thanks to Xeron and Exobuzz for making this possible! Also thanks to spotUP and others who have contributed to making this gem. Wonderful and inspiring stuff!) - rulezadded on the 2006-12-19 03:02:03
- musicdisk Windows Twisted Chipster #1 by Fairlight [web]
- Ooh, really great musicdisk! I somehow didn't expect this quality from modern musicdisks.. Love the Battle Squadron cover, sounds really close to the original (must use same samples at some parts like drums+hihats etc)... Wonderful stuff!

- demo Linux MS-Dos Windows Dreamcast GamePark GP2X iOS Playstation Portable Timeless by Tran
- Atmospheric, beautiful, energetic, soothing. Harmonic and flowing.. Very stimulating to the imagination, to the emotions, to the right side of the brain.. No flaws, great drumless music (drums would spoil a lot) and bright, nice colors. This is a great demo!

- musicdisk Windows The Alliance by Titan [web] & Rebels
- Hey, this is actually a good musicdisk! I am surprised to see so many honestly good musical tunes in a modern production. I hope this is an omen that the future is going to change for the better finally. Wow, great work, I am impressed! Maybe one day I will be able to also contribute to some music disk..

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Desert Dream by Kefrens
Stingray: "Best demo ever?" Haha. Please. I don't understand what the fuss is about. This demo has nothing spectacular, especially not energy. The musics were quite awful in my opinion and there just simply wasn't anything to look at, listen to or experience. If I made a demo, you could be sure this is something I would never want to produce. Gggh. Avoid. For good demos I recommend Odyssey, Tint, Relic, Love, Mindflow, Pulse .. even Drool This is light years better than this desert dream-demo. And many of the 'facts' in the demo are incorrect too. I wish I never have to lay my eyes on this 'demo'.- sucksadded on the 2006-03-05 14:00:14
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Odyssey by Alcatraz [web]
- Well.. I have to give my viewpoint of this excellent masterpiece.
I have to admit it can be a bit boring since it's more than 40 minutes long and after the space battle not much interesting stuff happens.
BUT - WHAT A SPACE BATTLE !! I have never felt such an energy rush through my spine watching any other demo, ever! The authors really put their finest self in this production, they clearly were excited, and that excitement shines and explodes to the viewer in such a wonderful way!
If you watch it from the beginning until the end of the space battle, then it's not yet that boring, and it has nice different musics (atmospheric and nice!), good graphics and amazing space battle, and you can then stop with your heart still racing from the energy blast from that unbeatable space battle!
When I watch demos, I don't care what kind of design or effects it has as long as the demo radiates that excitement from the authors and of course great graphics and an interesting storyline is always a plus in my eyes. I do like the ending though when the planet explodes and the asteroids flow through ..
So I agree that the 'scanning planet'-parts, vector flights on the planets etc. are too long and quite boring but what an achievement to make a 40-minute demo with a consistent storyline with the greatest space battle I have seen anywhere (including Star Wars and Babylon 5). And when I say 'greatest', I of course mean -energetically- greatest.
That energy is what the Amiga people probably meant when they have complemented this demo and when they say people can't seem to do this with Geforce cards and all the 3d-gimmics. The energy is just NOT THERE anymore in modern demos.
Well, I am sure most nobody understood what I mean but I just had to explain this part so people at least can understand if they choose to.
So all in all - most of the demo after the space battle is a bit boring, the space battle itself is energetic and exciting (and very nicely done, and what musics! wow!) as heck, and this demo has great graphics and nice atmosphere nevertheless. A MUST-SEE if you have never seen it - watch it AT LEAST until the space battle is over!
(I think I will always enjoy the space battle, simply can't get bored by it) - rulezadded on the 2006-03-03 20:50:56
- demo Amiga AGA Drool This by Parallax
- This was very impressive and astonishing demo on the big screen of Assembly 1994. You have to remember, it's an OLD demo, and I don't think all this had ever been made in one single demo. The effects are even 1x1, except maybe the landscape. Also back then those rendered pics were SO c00l! I mean, AGA was new thing, and you have to understand this had not been done before and at the time it was really impressive! I also happen to think it has a nice 'feeling', so it perfectly justifies it's existence.

- demo Amiga AGA Miracles by Stellar [web]
- The soundtrack name is "Pophuora" means "pop-whore" and it says in the sample details "Music for the masses.." which indicates that the author (Groo) probably felt like he is selling his artistic integrity, thus becoming a whore by making this kind of music that the masses are guaranteed to like.
A great demo, kinda atmospheric, but there are better ones out there. - isokadded on the 2005-11-22 01:32:54
