  I'm not quite sure I understand the question here.
  But if you're asking how many colour changes can be done to the background in one line without any colour limit, then it's 35'ish. 416 pixels visible per line (approx) and 12 cycles for each colour (move.w (an)+,(an)). For each rastersplit line of that kind there are 96 cycles free for other stuff in the far out borders. Lines without rastersplits are completely free.
