• I used a 'new' rendering technique for being able to show thin 3d structures fairly deep with a high framerate.
  It's a mixture of raytracing and raymarching and in my head I call it "gridmarching".
  
  (I'm almost sure I'm not the first to use this, but I have not read or heard about it before.)
