sorry gloom, i know it sucks having your work critized : ( , but i'm being sincerly honest. plus i simply think that all this chummy shoulder patting is nothing but a shortcut to mediocrity.
Don't worry about it - I have nothing against honest critiques. :)
Quote:gloom: if leading demo groups like those who were involved in this prod can't assure a certain level of inspiration, pretensions, coherence & eye for detail - whoever else?
I just wish people (most of which, never actually do demos themselves, or of they do, release so infrequently that it hurts), could recognize that not everything released under certain groupnames HAVE to be a fucking monster of a demo, with content and work behind it measuring months and months.
Also, what "shoulder patting"? That one is beyond me. I see much more shoulder patting with way worse looking prods by unknown groups, but then I guess it's called "encouragement", which is ok.
It's the "expected more" that I cannot really stand (or understand). 1) How can anyone expect anything from Excess for example - we're about as consistent in our releases as a cat on dopamine. :) Or Nooon? Which haven't released anything in over a decade?
If this demo was released by "Dead Roman", it would be recieved in a much different way, and that's what bothering me. Labels people, forget about them. I can't find the Kebby or Ryg quote right now, but they said it best when FR got too many "expected more" comments.
Demos are also about having fun, and this demo was both fun to make and fun to watch (IMO) so that's what counts. I cannot understand how something that's both fun AND has over average decent rendering and graphics can be thumbed down alongside random non-important "reasons", but hey - I guess some people have no other way to make themselves heard than to bitch loudmouthed in public foras (present quoted company excluded :) - isokadded on the 2009-07-21 13:02:46
- demo Windows kindervoucher by PlayPsyCo [web] & Boozoholics [web]
- You people are strange - bizarre is just the phrase to describe this demo. :) The music was surprising and a breath of fresh air.

release the tune.ogg please :)
Due to partyplace-musicmaking, I want to fix it before releasing. The EQ is all over the place, and for some reason, a submix was disabled before doing mixdown. I blame beer (and the boyfights :)
