  This is not Pirx intro, it's ind intro, and currently ind = Pirx + Tigrou. It's two men production, as many previous ind releases. Always read infofiles.
  
  BiTL, intro was written carefully, it doesn't contain dirty tricks, was tested on various computers (WinXP, DOS 6.22, DOSBox (very slow in DOSBox, try to avoid it)). Seems that the problem is on your system side, it's quite common with 256B stuff nowadays. Check if you can run other 256B prods.
