- seriously does NOT have that stable a raster on ntsc. FBR _was_ north american, so, yes I'm complaining (: No, mine were sucky too, but I at least TRIED to get them to not be as bad as fbr rasters.

- Ok this one was actually halfway innovative with the split raster, but it's also 89, and they'd learned a bit (: Also the logo was better quality than 88 FBR...

- See these aren't really CRACKTROS cuz FBR didn't crack SHIT. They IMPORTED shit. And it seems that a lot of times they'd remove the European intro... at least that's how it seemed to me.
Ok I'm not the biggest FBR fan in the world, but it was at least cool that they put a few bits into intros. Still, the amount of stuff that got spread on the FBR label, versus groups that had intro skills... well... I preferred getting stuff with good intros.
Excalibur, Rage For Order, Rampar, Ikari... those were names I enjoyed intros from, not FBR.
Not thumbing down cuz, yeah, these were a lot easier to dissect and learn to code from (: - isokadded on the 2006-01-20 22:59:34
- cracktro Commodore 64 Commando 88 by Fucked Beyond Repair
- ok that screenshot isn't anywhere close to the way it looks with the completely not even close to being correct rasters. Especially on ntsc.

- God. FBR was ... so incredibly poor at writing good intros.
Yes I dissasembled this and used it as an example for folks learning to code at the time. It was overly simplistic... but good cuz you could explain things with it, like rasters and so on.
Still, the intro itself is absolute shit (:
Yes, the screenshot... is basically the entire intro. - isokadded on the 2006-01-20 22:51:03

- I don't remember tweaking it that much, we were more fiddling and wondering why when I did Eterm on the remote box via vnc, it popped up across the room on a monitor not even remotely connected to the machines we were working on... and then having it run fullscreen there (:

- I went thru 8 different revisions of my comment as I really did want to give some form of constructive criticism, but basically - no. What you did disrespects artists, goes aginst the unwritten, established scene 'rules' - the ones that you don't break without backlash. So if you wondered 'what will happen if I rip tunes and release them in an ugly gui - the answer is, the people involved with MAKING productions will give you shit. The people who aren't involved won't know better.
Sure, you CAN go on selling velvet paintings of the mona lisa your entire life, you can even possibly make enough money to make rent. But you won't be pushing any envelopes. And you won't get my respect as an artist.
There are worse things you can do, yes. Please don't.
When you release #3, and I hope you do, I hope it's improved, with tunes from musicians that haven't been released. Ripping == lame. Also, I might suggest actually... ya know, doing more than what I'd expect from Microsoft, if they released a media player. Oh wait, they have, and oh wait, it sucks too.
Actually, this is one of the few WRITTEN rules of the scene. Ripping == lame. Always has, always will.
Real sceners respect other's work, even if they don't care for it. - isokadded on the 2006-01-10 14:21:22

- I think we should just delete Plek and any 'scener' who believes that dismissing a complete platform is a positive action for the scene.
