- AntDude: are your drivers up-to-date? I've tested it on a 7850, but it doesn't do anything advanced, just basic raymarching, so it should work on older hardware too. I'm using Catalyst 13.1. If you have the same or higher drivers, let me know and I can get you a version that dumps the GLSL compiler log.

- Thanks all! About the music: it was made on short notice and El Blanco is very busy, so I'm really glad he could help me out with this nice waltzy tune. It was also made to loop, but I didn't have room nor time to actually made it so in the executable, hence the sudden stop.

- demotool Windows Crinkler by Loonies [web] & TBC
- Hey Mentor and/or Blueberry,
I'm trying to make a 4K in VS2012 Express with the XP-compatible linker flag (platform toolset = Visual Studio 2012 - Windows XP (v110_xp), instead of the default Visual Studio 2012 (v110) ), and crinkler 1.4 does not like that:
1>LINK : error : cannot parse token '/SUBSYSTEM:WINDOWS,5.01': unknown argument WINDOWS,5.01
Would it be possible to fix this, preferably before Revision? - rulezadded on the 2013-03-23 16:10:38

- Yep, it's there (after installing VS2012 update 1). I've only recently jumped to 2012 Express (from VS6 /o\ ) and I was just looking up exactly that error after I gave one of my own tools to someone else. Trying to run your demo on my old PC (as that one is still connected to the speakers) helped me a lot finding the problem, as it was the first time I saw that error message. So thanks for that!

- First, great invitro with spot-on jokes!
Second, I learned something new today: applications compiled by Visual Studio 2012 do not run on Windows XP by default ("ThisIsRevision.exe is not a valid Win32 app"), unless you install update 1 and specify you want your programs to be XP-compatible.
From the horse's mouth: set the Platform Toolset property to Visual Studio 2012 – Windows XP (v110_xp).
Seems a small change to support an old platform. (I'm only running it on my secondary PC, on Win7 the demo ran fine).

- Whoops, almost missed this due to taking a break from the scene... While the music isn't my cup of tea, the attention to direction and colors is fantastic. It makes me feel a simple code monkey who can maybe make stuff smaller or faster but without any artistic skills... And I feel out of place in the credits, for what was basically my raymarching seminar :) But after watching this, I really feel inspired to start coding again, so thanks for a very inspirational production!

- Las: it's just part of my normal 4K framework. I had some other scenes in mind, but went with spheres only, and didn't bother to take out the cone marching. I didn't even think about the possibility to calculate the intersections in one go, that would probably provide a decent speedup...
The intro was made in a hurry, to support Rewired with a remote entry, as I unfortunately already had a family trip (without internet) planned on that date. So I had to submit it several days in advance. Add the Rewired invitro 4K we made three weeks ago, and the tentative next one for Some Big Party in another 3 weeks, and I really couldn't justify spending more time on it. Most time went in trying new (for me) stuff, such as postprocessing, and improving our primitive 4K tool. I noticed yesterday I forgot to take out the font-loading code from Schtrombloxke, so it could have been another 55 bytes smaller :)
In the end, it did better than expected at the party, so I'm glad I made it, even though it's far from perfect. - isokadded on the 2012-07-12 12:30:45
