• they're not very low-poly actually; every window is modelled individually, for example. i believe we're between 600k and 1000k tris drawn for most scenes. that's after multipass rendering - but there's still on the ballpark of 120k to 180k tris "source material" for most scenes, which doesn't really qualify as low-poly for me.

• it definitely looks like it makes heavy use of geometry shaders (which is dx10+ only). that doesn't mean you couldn't do it without them of course, but it's probably smaller and most likely faster like that.
