• Perhaps your chip ram is fragmented? It requires around 1.1MB of contiguous chip ram to run. Look in the "Largest" column in the output from the avail command.
  
  Which Amiga OS version are you running? I have only tested the packer with 3.0 and 3.1. It could be that newer versions are incompatible in some way.
