- Grimmy:
30 frequencies are extracted from the original song via spectrum analysis, every 1/50s, and are generated and mixed together at runtime. All the mixing is done in 16 bits for accuracy and the result is converted to 8 bits. Lots of rounding everywhere to avoid noise, etc. At the end the coeffs are packed but there's room for improvements at this stage because i didn't have time (read: i was too drunk) to try to reduce the entropy and to select the best packing algo. In this demo, they are just packed with the executable by upx.
The quality could be better with 2mb+ of memory, so i'll release another sample with better quality and a music with drums :) - isokadded on the 2011-06-07 09:20:59

- By chance, there's a 6khz mode in the STe !
Maybe it can't reach 8khz on a 2mb machine, i'll just fix the very bad precision of the frequencies increments :) - isokadded on the 2011-06-06 19:54:32
