  I think it has in part to do with the fact that you have to explicitly select the "thumbs up" option in order to self-vote, as opposed to just leaving it at the default of the pig. It seems you're allowed to feel proud of your production, so long as you don't express it as a thumbs up. :P No such people seem to have issues with those who down-vote their own prods, but nobody said life was fair. ;)

• Seconding Kylearan here. The music is certainly not your typical size-coded soundtrack, but it seems quite out of place. It's synched, sure, but not my up of tea.
  
  The rest of it (the visuals) are very nice indeed, so there's the thumb. :)
