- demo Windows Arcade by Spectrals [web]
- I can see how this may come across as pandering to nostalgia but with all the attention to detail I truly believe it's more of a huge and insanely long love letter to the arcade era, executed by people who are old enough to believably reminisce about it rather than just riding a trend. And as others already pointed out, the execution is spectacular from the ridiculous amounts of content down to the loving little details.
The soundtrack is easily one of the most massive and diverse pieces of art I've heard in a few years, several demos' worth of tracks all gelled into one opus magnum. And likewise, the scenes all blend together in one single camera path - I had to watch the video in slow-mo just to catch some of the transitions ("wait, when did the mainhall tables become arcades?!?").
I will remember this demo for years to come, thank you for making it. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-10 20:38:15

- 64k Windows Clean Slate by Conspiracy [web]
- Exactly what Preacher said. The quality and amount of content is staggering, but there's no real point to it - it's just pretty, but damn that it is.
Kinda the counterpoint to Deus Cervidae which has a solid theme holding things together but doesn't excel as much in the polish department. Both are choosing a different direction and each is great in its own right. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-10 19:59:22
- 64k Windows Deus Cervidae by Nuance [web]
- Pretty cool overall, and having a "story" of sorts is always a huge plus with me. What really took it home for me though was the execution of the lasers cutting through those buildings - completely sold the concept.
Sure, some details could have used work but seen as a package this is rock solid immersive stuff. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-10 19:54:21
- 64k JavaScript Chekhov's Gum by Neuralyte
- Certainly not the shiniest horse in the barn, but I love it for the new and different ideas, and that amen kicks ass!

- 64k JavaScript Condition by FMS_Cat [web]
- So very tight, on point and shiny - it just keeps bringing the next banger before I'm done processing the current one. And it's all made by one person - jaw, meet toilet tunnel.
Easily my personal CDC from the compo. - rulezadded on the 2021-04-10 19:38:47

- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Hologon by The Electronic Knights
- Proper OCS demo style! It's mostly a themed effect show with little to tie them together, but I dig that! I also love how it's more than just 5 minutes of showing off a fullscreen 3d engine with blocky pixels - I can see there's a lot of different kinds of hardware trickery involved in each effect. The graphics are top notch and the soundtrack fits both the mood of the demo and the nice throwback to the 90s :)
The 90s demo style and your idea of mailspreading are going together really well - but also thanks to noname for making it available to people like me who aren't super deep into the Amiga scene and therefore couldn't be arsed to send a letter :) (For the record, I did install an emulator to run it!) - rulezadded on the 2021-02-19 13:35:15
