- This demo is exceptional! For me it's a continuation of the Norwegian avant gardish demoscene which kinda ended around the early nineties. Those demos were outstanding, look at e.g. Panoramic Design's Mentallic to see what i mean. This one breathes that heritage like we haven't seen since then. That was rarely about tech records or macho code, but casting an atmosphere combined with or based on smart ideas.
If you're not used to 'press-space' demos, and got spoiled with the trackmos, i understand it's a bit harder to appreciate. But instead of having one big soup of effects and transitions, this meal is served in portions - each portion having its own peak and atmosphere. Impossible with the current standards of trackmos.
Plus there's so much love and ideas in this one...
Just to shed a light on the pov of more c64 sceners here, not just me. I guess it's harder for some to appreciate it without this background. Please considerate the historic part, one can not judge properly without having any background knowlegde. (which is a fact beyond the scene naturally; politics, art and .. what not). - rulezadded on the 2010-10-05 11:58:50
