- demo MS-Dos Windows moralhardcandy by blasphemy [web]
- nufan - i know this was very influential, but i'm just not convinced that it was *that* revolutionary (more evolutionary) or that it's the best demo ever.. personally, i prefer kkowboy, which predates this by several months.. the design quality is almost at the same level as mhc but the demo itself is more entertaining.. however, you're right, compared to most stuff released around '98/'99, mhc stands up really well and makes the design skills evident in other windows demos of the era look rather sad and undeveloped...

- demo Windows killer clouds by Corrosion [web]
- yup, whenever the alpha blending kicks in it slows down a lot.. other than that, this is excellent stuff.. unique mix of lo-fi vectorish graphics with more modern design and code.. good, if not mindblowing, music too.. has an appeal that doesn't seem fixed to any particular era (nuskewl, oldskewl, etc.), so is the kind of demo that'll only get better with age (also because processors and gfx cards will probably get faster ;)

- demo MS-Dos Windows moralhardcandy by blasphemy [web]
- yes, it's good.. but there are lots of design demos (some with better music) with decent code that are just as nice.. a little overrated methinks..

- demo Windows hwr2 by kosmoplovci [web]
- it's a gorgeous thing... very cinematic music (kinda glitchy twin peaks-ish) and mesmerizing visuals.. if i could get it to run at a decent frame rate, it'd be pure bliss.

- 64k Windows Cluster by Science [web]
- some good music and some nice effects and abstract objects.. lengthy for a 64k too with no major design complaints..
however, between the blurring and the blending it was really hard to see what was happening.. a lot of the time, the screen is about 80% white. not the speediest thing in the world either. but i like. - rulezadded on the 2003-01-16 05:29:11

- demo Windows another high-caliber mechanical complication by Kewlers [web]
- really good.. nice image distortion, looked almost like analogue video effects in places.. music's quite hard, but alright for the style..

- demo MS-Dos Into the Fight by optimus
- definitely a bit more effort than alt-pier.. ;) effects are very impressive speedwise considering the language - particularly liked the bit with the colorful siney things stretched over the rotozommer.. good ingenuity and good code for qb, but lacks just about everything else.. (can't comment on music because i didn't hear any)
