- OK. I think this demo deserves a coup de coeur.
That's 4,096 glops well spent, in my incontrovertible opinion. ;] - isokadded on the 2025-05-02 10:07:46

- @Rhino/BG: I doubt that the origin of this fanaticism lies in a special zeal for justice. You only have to look at the vitriol present in too many posts in this page to realize that this so-called justice is nothing more than an excuse to beat up the "others."
All I see here is typical tribalism and the need of some to believe themselves better than others.
If you truly want a competition to be fair to the participants, then be careful not to force them to declare the tools they use. Remember that any competition of this kind is unfair because art cannot be judged objectively.
As I write this, I can see five trophies (three from Revision) and a bunch of medals (mostly from Euskal, one from Function) in front of me. I know finishing first or fifth isn't objective or fair... it just happens. I constantly see really good demos that finish sixth or seventh at major competitions, and then almost no one looks for them here on pouët to vote for them or leave a comment. Nor does anyone remember them when they hold demoshows and always feature those who were lucky enough to be among the first... forgetting a lot of gems who deserve to be featured.
The demoscene is a small, minority world where many people dedicate a lot of time and effort to achieving a good prod, which is later remembered only by a few geeky people at best.
What we have to achieve, when establishing competition rules, is that at least the participant isn't lynched, because it seems we can't prevent fanatics from sneaking onto the juries. It's better that the jury doesn't have a list of "heretics" ready to disqualify productions that have sinned against the God of Tradition.
Please, if you want to discuss this with me, do so on Telegram or, better yet, in person when we meet. Let's leave this page, as I told your brother in another post, for people to post about the merits of this great demo or continue ranting about the imminence of the End of Times. - isokadded on the 2025-04-27 18:17:11

- @Rhino/BG: I'm not exaggerating. Read the comments on this page and ask yourself how many of those who gave this thumbs down didn't do so for religious reasons. Be glad their religion doesn't say anything about copying comic book characters!

- @Rhino/BG: Unreasonable rules also have consequences for those who create them. One cannot be irresponsible and demand a confession of sin or an oath of purity of thought before a tribunal of inquisitors. That path will lead to schism.
Fortunately, prods don't need compos; on the contrary, those compos need prods. - isokadded on the 2025-04-27 14:41:59
