- A quick party-prod hammered together by a bunch of people. Not quite sure who was involved in the code, but I believe Tropical Trevor and Glow perhaps had a brief swing at it. Wurstgetrank or perhaps Androo, too. Can't remember, so someone will have to fill out the blanks. Music was done at the party in 6 hours by me and xtrium.

the visual style is a bit oldskool-kitchy, i wonder if it's intentional or accidental. if intentional, then it could have been boosted even more
the audio is a bit too bright and cheap-fm-synth-ugly, not very nice to listen to, and wouldn't pass as "real music" without the size handicap pity compensation.
on the positive side, the music has nice melodic and harmonic stuff, and it's in a minor key
It's actually cheap additive synthesis ;-) And i really appreciate your feedback, Yzi.
I intentionally kept the initial instrument totally free from lower frequencies, to prevent it from crashing with the bass stab, introduced later in the track. I wanted to create brass but it's really difficult with the few parameters available. So I went for strings (which is easy with additive synths) and overused the gain to create distortion to get a bit closer to brass.
With Clinkster and Oidos, there's no way to do mastering besides setting volume of each instrument, so it's always a balance to prevent instruments from being a muddy mess and on the other hand, make sure instruments doesn't get too thin or boring. - isokadded on the 2017-07-24 20:15:38

- Huge thanks to Virgill for the Rhodium soundtrack, which this was obviously inspired by. Also, after hearing the amazing winning 8k from revision, I wanted to see if it was possible to do a breathing sound with Oidos in a 4k. Final shoutouts to all those I talked to at Nordlicht and all those that there wasn't time to get to talk to ;-)

- This is without any doubt, the most insane instrument design ever in a 4k! The strings, the chimes, everything is just so wonderfully recreated. It's amazing there was even room for any visuals at all ;-)
I got this sensation of having just escaped a fire by jumping into the swimmingpool and from there, I looked up on the hotel on fire from under the surface. Really a wonderful journey. Thanks a million fro this masterpiece! - rulezadded on the 2017-07-23 22:56:18

- @fsFreak If you want to, I'd be happy to provide whatever help, instruments and tips you want. Both with Clinkster and Oidos. Hit me up on facebook or if you're attending Nordlicht this weekend, catch me there ;-)

- Wonderful, wonderful visuals. The rendering looks really nice and I love the color choise - particularly the red parts that sort of "breaks" repeating a bit. Great work with cameras and the spaceship. Looked gorgeous as it flew over and the shadow was cast!
The audio, is a bit of a different story. I guess it must be due to the size required for the visuals. I might be wrong, but to me it sounded like a slightly changed default instrument of clinkster, a slightly changed wave-ish sound from the Loonies U-boat and a pitch-decay'ed version of the first instrument. I might be wrong about the instruments, though. It's a really, really tough balance between boring/small and interesting/large and in my opinion, this one tipped a bit too much to the boring/small side.
That said, there's so much right about this 4k, and I know how corners has to be cut when deadline aproaches :) So massive thumbs up for your efforts and for this wonderful piece of eye-candy. - rulezadded on the 2017-07-18 22:01:02

- @sim By _the_, I meant to make a joke about there only being a single prod in entire 2017 without a magic touch of Virgill :p

- Amazing production! A lot of interesting content for a first time prod. Not too huge a fan of the music. The composition is really nice and sweet, but the intentional use of SID'ish drums kinda ruins it a bit for me. It's a personal taste-thing, though ;-)
Still plenty of material for a huge thumb up!
PS: Does anyone know of _the_ production for a 2017 demoparty that doesn't feature Virgill's music? Amazing amount of high quality tracks from your hand, mate! :D - rulezadded on the 2017-07-05 11:12:15

- Really awesome visuals. Impressive DOF and nice fractals. The sync really adds to the overall sensation. Really great job on that. I'm a bit torn with the music. Knowing the rather high quality instruments possible with 4klang, I wasn't too fond of the overly noisy instruments. But it's quite apparent that it's by design, since it's on pretty much all instruments. Most of the visuals aren't that noisy, so perhaps that's the reason I think the music clashes a bit. Also, one of the instruments seem to be way too detuned. Perhaps that's by design as well, but it made me cringe on first note-on. But all in all, it's a massive 4k with some new and interesting stuff, so the thumb definitely goes up for this one :)
