- demo Amiga AGA Norwegian Kindness by Spaceballs [web]
- Maytz: It's a *static overlay* that never even exists in the chunky buffer, so there's no need whatsoever for baking it into the c2p since it already comes for free. :)
As for the displacement maps; I dare you to do a similar effect using the techniques you mentioned. ;)
Anyway, I'm turning into one of those 'tards who turn prod comments into forum threads.. :( - isokadded on the 2011-02-11 14:33:13
- demo Amiga AGA Norwegian Kindness by Spaceballs [web]
- Maytz: I don't know how you newschool PC kids do things but I can guarantee that there's no displacement maps in the cloud part. :)
However, there is a static color overlay (2 bitplanes) which is indeed a bit too visible / creates aliasing. I did consider animating it or toning down the color gradient to make it less visible (like in some of the other parts of the demo), but never got around to it.
Annoyingly these overlays also seem to create visible banding on *some* displays and projectors (most visible in the cloud and meta-grid-thingie parts), which I'll need to look into if I ever reuse this technique. For now you'll just have to pretend this is how things work on Amiga ;) - isokadded on the 2011-02-11 13:19:11

(at least until youtube decides to remove it due to the soundtrack or something...)

- demo Amiga AGA Software Make The Dance Foam Oil by Ephidrena & kvasigen [web] & Rave Network Overscan [web]
- Slick slick elektro!
I'm no fan of the particles (or font) in the credits parts, but other than that this goes down very smoothly! - rulezadded on the 2011-02-10 17:12:56
- demo Amiga AGA Norwegian Kindness by Spaceballs [web]
- Shoonay: Thanks for the youtube vids!
If anyone has the chance to capture this from a real amiga as well (060/50mhz or preferrably 66mhz) it would be great! Our vhs-cams are unfortunately all being serviced atm..
This final version is quite close to what was shown in the compo at Datastorm. Some tweaks have been done to the effects in the top-left and bottom-right parts of the screenshot, and several ugly glitches between parts have been removed together with some other bugs.

- demo Amiga AGA Dust by Elude [web]
- Great piece of work!
This + "We come in peace" are the only two amigademos from 2010 I re-watch because of the effects. - rulezadded on the 2011-02-03 23:00:22
- demo Windows fr-063: Magellan by Farbrausch [web]
- The visual style is slick, but far too game'ish for my tastes.
The effects, on the other hand, are absolutely bloody wonderful! :) (yes *effects* \o/ ) - rulezadded on the 2010-12-30 03:55:32
- demo Windows In From Space by kvasigen [web]
- The ribbons could have looked a bit more synchronized, other than that it looks neat and the tune is very nice!

- demo invitation Windows Easter Guardians by Excess [web]
- I really like the effect, but as a demo it would've been too weak if not for the awesome soundtrack.
