- demo Windows halfsome by Carillon & Cyberiad [web] & Fairlight [web]
- i don't get how this could come out fourth place. it might feel a bit unoriented here and there, but there's a great deal of artistic talent, beautiful detail and visual character in this one. certainly more than in some other 'shove objects -- yawn -- through a tunnel' piece. way to go, FTL!

- wild Wild Glitch Matrix by Aunderwex
- i'm usually quite fond of glitch art and glitch aesthetics (and i admit that this one indeed has some sweet patterns here and there), but recycling a 'matrix' snippet? really, no ...

- demo Windows Iridescence by Fulcrum [web]
- what xernobyl said: the font totally ruins it! which is a shame, since this piece itself is a true gem with a very straight concept and marvelous visuals.

- demo Windows Ultimatum to the World: First Days of the Last War by mfx [web]
- thumb for actually addressing something relevant for a change. although i'm not really sure about the pretty trivial 'bass in your face' approach. also: is it me or what's with all these charts? seems like a rather random google image search to me -- which kinda blows when the overall message is a political one. but anyway, the rest is top-notch mfx overdoze ... and i'll always fall for that :) !

- demo Windows 9x13 sepia by Nuance [web]
- thumb for the type design alone ... seems someone acually tried for something contemporary here!

- demo Windows Fern by lkcc [web] & Bauknecht [web]
- considering this year's (2007 that is) invitations, this is just pure gold! loved it at evoke back then, still love it today!

- demo Windows Sweet Home Under Synthetic Clouds by Cocoon [web]
- well ... i really want to like this one as anyone else does. just for the fact that it has 'cocoon' written on it. unfortunately i can't, really. must be that dusty, oldfashioned aftertaste, i can't get over with. except for both the 2d intro and end pic: they are top-notch. but a robot holding a nude girl in its palm? please ...

- demo Windows fr-059: momentum by Farbrausch [web]
- made me all antsy and excited during the compo stream. still am. can't wait for a final, as it all looks so very promising ... other than that: what pixtur said

- demo Windows Sokuseki by xplsv [web]
- wow, this one really has a nice flow and a great colour concept to it. very clean, very smooth. excellent. i just wish they'd used the texts (especially the credits) a little more subtle ... these massive letters kind of mess up the overall wonderful delicate appearence of this demo. a proper climax would have been nice, too. thinking about it, this could have been a lot more. but anyway, great prod!
