- demotool Linux Windows Amiga PPC/RTG MacOSX PPC PocketPC GamePark GP2X MacOSX Intel MilkyTracker by Titan [web]
- Nice! Now there's a real tracker for Linux, not just somone's half-finished/abandoned summer project.
Now, if I could just get used to the layout... I started out with Modplug Tracker and for some reason, even though it's been years since I last used it I STILL can't get comfortable with FT2 type interfaces, and keep expecting... well, you know, decently labelled controls. Which sucks because evidently FT2 is the gold standard. - rulezadded on the 2006-09-24 04:47:09

- demo Linux Windows Wild MacOSX PPC WORLD FIRST EVER (ooo2.o impress demo) by Deus Ex Machina [web]
- Somehow, it freezes my computer when I tried to actually play the presentation, every single time, as soon as I start it. Bah.
Now, I say this as a proud Linux user, but OpenOffice.Org Impress is absolutely horrible. Awful memory usage, awful CPU usage, propensity to hang the system completely... all with a feature set barely comparable to Microsoft Powerpoint.
What you've done with this is make a demo that pushes the system so far it won't even run, and for that you get a thumb. - sucksadded on the 2006-09-24 03:56:03
- 64k Linux The Serum
- Gave me the impression that it was running the effects as fast as possible, which on my hardware was considerable speed.
The music could have used a bit less aggressive C64-drumming. (among other things) - isokadded on the 2006-09-23 03:45:48

- demo Windows Onwards by Traction [web]
- So... I guess I don't get it. A bunch of particle effects where particles are replaced by growing and shrinking rotating cubes? And another 3D plasma like in Ante Dominum, and a mellow pop soundtrack, and it gets a Coup de Coeur? Haven't we already seen this demo before, maybe minus a few cubes?
...on the other hand, someone has also CDC'd fr-038: theta; which I think is similarly inspired...
I would thumb this down except I know I'd be doing it primarily because this is overrated, and in all fairness it's not bad... it's just... average - isokadded on the 2006-09-23 03:25:34

- 64k Linux Windows first attempt by kakmonsterklubben [web]
- Thanks for the linux port! Other than that, the visuals (or lack thereof- I counted three effects, unless the words at the bottom were an effect) kinda sank this.
Works on Ubuntu 6.06 - isokadded on the 2006-09-18 04:46:05
- demo Linux Windows MacOSX PPC MacOSX Intel Rajut Hevit by wamma [web]
- Oh, also contributing to the thumb down was the fact that I had to manually softlink /usr/lib/libXxf86vm.so.1.0.0 to /usr/lib/libXxf86vm.so to get this thing to run. Once it did, it ran fine (Ubuntu 6.06, Nvidia GeForce Ti 4200 Go)...

- Thumb up for the music; thumb down for the visuals (mostly their matching). I'm not exactly gonna call it bad, but the music needed more action-packed demo to go with, and the visuals probably suffered from not being as active as the music.
