  one thing i'm kinda sad about is that nobody ever notices that there's a rotating radial blur in the first scene. i guess thom's right about poor design.

  i'm no layer but atleast in sweden (and i guess in most west european,etc countries aswell) the copyright law says that the authors has exclusive rights(unless signed away) to say how things are distributed and a certain kind of "works-rights" that means that they have to ok anything based on their works. based means a sample, a unique melody (2-3 bars or strong resemblance) and any other kind of bundling or remixing.
  in sweden there was actually some directors suing a tv channel for having advertisement breaks in their movies because it "altered" the appearance of the movie, i don't remember the outcome of this sadly.
  and i'm not going to go into the kind of deals that many musicians(that basically all pros) has with organisations like IFPI that regulates how royalties are to be collected (i think the assembly homepage has or had some info on this topic related to commercial music in demos).
