- Looked like a rough draft or something. At least it wasn't too long.

- One of the best realtime raytracing engines out there. A pity it wasn't used to it's fullest potential. Better luck next time!

- That gold spinning object thing was the best -- some cool rendering. I also liked the little "people" moving around the party area. Overall, some good stuff, but over before it began.

- intro Windows xmas2003 by Kaolin
- I didn't like this one bit. Christmas doesn't exactly give me a hard-on to begin with, and this hodge-podge didn't help matters. Music doesn't do much, and visuals are pretty much just variations of what one sees in the above screenshot.

- Amusing at first, but it kinda drags on with too much of the same. No variation to be seen.

- And I'll tell you one thing I really liked: The flag stones (or whatever) were not flat and even. They were all crooked and stuff. That's a nice touch.

- Actually, even the screenshot above is a good example. If you cover up the left one third the remaing image begins to look more lively. The dynamic of the "ship" moving towards the object is more pronounced. Subtle, but that's what good cinematography is all about.

- demo Windows fr-036: zeitmaschine by Farbrausch [web]
- paniq: Dead center creates a dead frame. This can be useful in a "moment of silence" or end of a work, but during times of motion it is not the best way to visual place an object on screen. I can easily think of many moments in this demo where ancient concepts such as "rule of thirds" would've helped tremendously.
For example, you have that space ship moving about in most scenes. Offsetting that with whatever it's flying around would create a much greater sense of depth. Dead center elimates depth completely. - isokadded on the 2003-12-30 20:21:12
