  Thanks for the comments! I'll be digging through the source of autumagic to see the pmode setup. ~100 bytes sounds pretty good. The only problem with the multiboot approach is that it can be a little tricky to run if you're not too familiar with GRUB/Linux. I had to give the compo organizers a hand it setting it up (thanks Luis).
  
  In other news, there is also a journal that I kept while I was developing it in the zip called "log.txt". Read it for more details on my thoughts during the dev process.

• Oh cool! pmode in 256b is worth the thumb alone. I was actually playing around with some similar animated IFS effects using the multiboot trick. Thanks for linking this, I hadn't seen it :)
