- Nice patterns and I like the overall look, and there's a lot of variation milked from the concept. But as uncle-x and LJ point out, this could have been a lot more than the sum of its parts had there been more attention to movement/direction. Specifically, things could have moved a lot slower, and the variations could have been spaced out such that it didn't "blow its load" right at the beginning, so to speak. Anyways, it was enjoyable in the compo still :)

- Last thing; I never actually thought the demo was inconsistent, at least any more than the style it emulates (and confidently achieves).

- This one always stuck with me; I remember being stoked on the visual style when it came out and the soundtrack really carried the vibe. Now 15 years later I still get the tune stuck in my head from time to time, which is not something I can say about most prods, so it’s funny to read all the comments complaining that it was uneventful, which I guess is sorta true, but also I’ve never felt like it needed anything more (for its time). Still love it. Also:

now we can also put the rendered video in a .exe file with a video player and that's it.
Also what noby and gargaj said. - isokadded on the 2023-04-14 23:48:56

- I also think it should have placed much higher, but I imagine to a lot of people this probably felt like "not much more than a UE demo augmented with some line stuff" perhaps.

- demo Windows Resample
- Really nice and memorable track which ends up carrying most of the atmosphere imo. The landscape and foliage rendering was ofc absolutely gorgeous but I have a hard time judging how much credit for that goes to the artists or the tools in this case due to the use of a commercial engine.
If I had to pick a point of constructive feedback, it's that the line stuff felt a bit too disconnected in many scenes. It works exceptionally well over the water with the reflections for example, but less so in the first two shots, where I actually thought it was a 2D overlay on first watch, and it's hard to imagine that this was intentional. I also don't really like the way they move (feels clunky in a way) which somehow also distances them from the rest a bit, but that might be just my perception.
Anyways, it was one of the more enjoyable entries in the compo imo; I liked it. - rulezadded on the 2023-04-14 11:34:39

- obviously quite similar to this (and probably countless other prods I'm not aware of) but I really like looking at it, and yay stickers!
