- >It’s like he don’t really care about the >magazine, it’s more the fame by rebuilding >something so many of us wanted to see >rebuild.
Alright, now this is too much. I''m out of words due to this comment. Of all the comments in here, this is the most unbelievable allegation and insult I've ever heard to date on this matter. Seriously, what the hell do you know of all the goddamn hours I've invested into this magazine, both in the past and present? I've been a part of the old mag, and you're telling me I don't care? Seriously, what the...? And yes you're right you will not see an editorial like "w0000t, let's kick some aaaaaaaaass, can we hear you say 'wooo-hooo, wooo-hooo" from me, and guess what, you never will. It was intended to be down to earth. It was meant to be professional. You may hate the interface, you may hate the hardware requirements or whatever, but this was just...
oh and to put one thing right, regarding the "so many of us" you mentioned: The majority of the scene neither remembered ZINE, nor did they care. This is about starting from scratch. - isokadded on the 2007-08-22 10:18:58

- heheh. I agree that Facet's is controversial, but it was his own choice :)

- fishwave: i'm willing to learn. But I also am quite confident that my articles aren't total rubbish because I worked for international media as a journalist for the last 8 years. But yes, contributors are more than welcome, you can imagine. :)

- Cocoon: as far as Deadline Fever (issue 11) is concerned, Smash would have to help you. I don't even know the codewords myself (I guess I have to try a couple). :-)

- Lord Helmet's journalism is not my kind of journalism, that's just the way it is, and it always has been like that. ZINE is not about polarization or sensationalism and it'll stay like that. In related news Lord Helmet will have a little foreword in ZINE 13, so hang in there (no, it won't be ready next week) ;) ZINE is about background info (hence our slogan), and anyone who actually DID read the Lifeforce diary or the kb interview, might know what I mean.

- fishwave: To put my quote into context: I meant that those mags I listed (and not those that I didn't list because I can only talk about the things I've seen), still had the same interface-type we used (and others too, like RAW) back in 1991. Left/right-scrolling, scrollbar, traditional buttons, traditional structure, etc. I did not say there are ONLY mags like that. But those were the ones I had checked out at the moment before ideas to bring back ZINE came up. That's all really. And that was not meant in any disrespectful way, otherwise we wouldn't have supported mags like Pain previously. Pain is one of the reasons mags still exist today as it's the most popular one at the moment. And that is good. People are used to things they know, and they appreciate that. And that's fine with me. We just wanted to take a different angle. That's why it's apparently controversial.
