- whaddaymean, slow? this is 68k, so it's basically like Amigaaaa! :D:D:D
Just kidding, this is very very good. Wonder what you can come up with beyond those "small effects". - rulezadded on the 2020-05-21 21:00:04

- Great show, very funny and nicely strung together. Care to elaborate on the "software DPCM" part?

- More/harder monsters was my first thought. However I'm afraid it wouldn't be an improvement, but rather just make the game more tedious, since the optimal strategy would still be to avoid fights whenever possible. Well, maybe you'll find those 10 bytes eventually ;) In any case, it's very inspiring to see how you removed so many features, yet still managed to retain that distinct "rougelike feel".

- Amulet of Yendor retrieved! My only complaint is that there is hardly any challenge whatsoever. I think an easy fix would be to decrease the health on every step, and increase monster spawn rate a bit so monsters will block doorways more often, forcing you to fight. That way, players would have to make some meaningful decisions, and since health=food, that'd even make sense flavour-wise. Anyway, this rocks big time.

- Wow, very cool, especially considering that the .8xp file header eats quite a few of those 256 bytes!
