- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Major Release by Da Jormas [web]
- @vesuri: I can take back the googled images claim (that strange monkey pic looked kind of suspicious), but after viewing the demo again, the rest of my claims hold up pretty well, no matter if the graphics were especially designed for this demo.
the texture in the first eye part is just plain horrible, and the smudgy coloring in the iris makes it painfully clear, that it's a downsampled image (=not pixelled as it is). hence the "downsampled jpegs" claim. you wont see graphics like this in a good amiga ocs demo circa '91-94.
the major release logo has a commonly used (=boring) truetype font - I'm too tired to dig up the font name. the logo itself is just plain white text on black background. I'm pretty sure the font wasn't designed for this demo, but just typed in in a software like photoshop or psp. again: you wont see graphics like this in a good old amiga ocs demo circa '91-94, atleast not as the title logo, as they were usually carefully crafted.
(for me the graphics surrounding the major release logo created an association to the logo used in the title screen of the game stardust. compare these two logos and try to guess how they differ - not in just style, but how they are created.)
da jormas logo looks like it's a truetype font processed in photoshop in various ways. correct me if I'm wrong. guess what I'm going to write next? you wont see graphics like this in a good amiga ocs demo circa '91-94. I'm not saying it's a bad logo. I just doesn't look "right" in the context of the music, effects and the demo style (and platform) for the aforementioned reasons.

- the tune by Tsaca is somewhat nice.
from what I heard, he had a HD crash in 1996 or 1997, which destroyed loads of unreleased stuff. that ended his scene career. - isokadded on the 2008-11-17 12:37:28
