  I feel you, man ;-)
  Composing good melody is very hard. I personally recommend listening to classical pieces and/or reading about "motive development", there are books / lots of resources about it. Although I'm probably better in theory than in practice :D

  IMHO melody is fine, however, some instruments are a bit strange (especially high-pitch thing near the end) and it feels out of tune (not sure why, some freq.based delay effect / too much freq.modulation?). Maybe it's easy to fix actually?

• Looks like rushed indeed and knowing these guys (not in person, but from shadertoy etc...), I think they have potential to do much better. But at least they "delivered something".

• Maybe not exactly my style, but I totally dig "hello" part. Overall, really well made, plenty of cool animated details.

• Heavily underrated. Also, works real-time at full res - pretty rare for 4k these days!
  
  For the colors/music - personally it's fine for me. I guess they could have been a little better though to get more applause from non-technical audience.

• It is a pleasure to watch indeed. Additional plus is a subtle message behind, maybe nothing conceptually/psychologically new, but at least it looks honest and personal. And visual form/expression fits the message very well.
  
  Overall, I get impression that (for a while already) ASD stopped actually competing, but just have fun and realizing their dreams (like Mrs Escher's Nightmare ;)). And they actually can aford it and deserve it :)
  
  The only remaining question is: how about VR version? (just kiddding :))
