- 64k Windows Clone meets Clone win32 by Fudge & Acme
- one of my fav. from the 'old' days - audio matching visuals, good example of music based on motivic development without pompous epic-bs

- demo GamePark GP2X Integrated Software for Omega Devices by Software Failure [web] & Sector Omega [web]
- I enjoyed watching it (great pace and composition). Especially, two spider-like creatures chasing each other on a "sphere" (technically on a pentakis dodecahedron) near the end - that kind of things turn me on, lol.
Additional plus for doing it on an exotic platform! - rulezadded on the 2015-04-02 23:19:46

- @1x: come on, it's all over now, it's not worth going back to it anymore... in fact I have changed my mind and I can clearly see you respect honest criticism (which intially I thought you don't, after I was put under fire a little bit). So Alex, now I have to apologize you personally for acting like a "demoscene police" - my bad.
On the other side, it is true, that I do not pereceive some things as a positive trend, such as pre-computed stuff, but it is my opinion only (sorry, if most people are not interested, I should keep it lower profile) and I agree that I shouldn't discard a demo, because of that (for Lifeforce I was talking about one scene only, actually even one effect - fluid-like particle animation). - isokadded on the 2015-04-02 21:05:13

- @pixtur: thanks, it was also merely an overreaction to pop-culture bs in a recent blockbusters I've watched and the general state of "cg art", nothing personal. When I see explosions and hear "wooh" sounds everywhere it really acts on my nerves, sorry. As for revision I won't be there, but I am definitely up to participate and hopefully contribute something to "Deadline".

- @jco: I apologize for insulting parts, trust me, this critique cost me a lot of emotions/health as well...like shit why I even started :(

- @jco: guys, if you say I am troll I give up. the only reason I am so eagerly defending my rather simple opinion over and over again is you cannot handle _any_ critique - I am a little bit harsh, yes, but not _that_ harsh. It's amazing. So please continue your self-admiration circle, no wonder demoscene is such an artistic niche.

- @introspec: oh, so "critical thinking" is so immature these days? Do you have anything to contribute to my short discourse about art, form and technique or you are just annoyed that somebody is sharing his opinions in a comment section that is supposed to be exactly made for this purpose?

- @navis: agreed, painting is not a reality, from Van Eyck, Botticelli, Caravaggio to Van Gogh, Monet, Klimt, Chagall and so on... form vs content, all supported with a great mastery and technique! I actually really like what you are doing - for example: a schematic tree in front of red city-skyline with fluid-like particles in "Lifeforce" is a genuine code-driven demo art to me - a great combination of form, technique and expression. And this sunrise on ice "wooh wooh" scene is some mediocre attempt to capture Interstellar+Riddick kind of "epic" bullshit-emotion-squeezers, easily resonating with infantile-mindset, no wonder so greatly applauded.

- @navis: It looks like fbm+modifier to me, additional "mesh complexity" may come from simplification that was applied afterwards, so they didn't have to implement lod for just this one shot.
But sure, I understand it is because of time constraints, just one can do better nowadays, for example: it would be nice to see something on par with CG movies, like this Crematoria planet I've posted (that looks surprisingly similar, especially later in the movie when the sun goes up with a big "woooh" sounds) - why not aim higher? - isokadded on the 2015-03-30 19:11:56
