- Such a sad story. It was well edited and relatable despite the harsh limitations of the size category. The dust storm was a masterstroke :D

- I can't help but like this. The "mishmash" of different styles can be seen as a synthesis of past demo aesthetics. Its own kind of insular vaporwave, if you will. The form of "angst demo" is very familiar to everybody by now, but maybe these demos are like blues songs? Formulaic, no exceptional skill at play, yet wonderful if you're in the mood.
The meshes don't seem ripped to me and actually look like they were computed via photogrammetry which is not very common to demos. Regarding the song, like Virgill wrote, it's better to grant the authors the benefit of doubt. I'm not sure if that music was a good fit to the visual side though.
I believe there's dignity in working with your own shit tools. Techwise this seems like a custom DirectX 12 engine and such endeavors should be encouraged. Different workflows result in different outcomes and I'd like to see those outcomes, even if they are of archaic variety.
Leave my angst demos alone! - rulezadded on the 2019-08-20 00:52:00
