- Texel: Thanks, you're spot on. I'm sure that it is indeed a technical masterpiece, but I'm just offering the superficial perspective of a non-technical onlooker.
rrola: Please don't take my comment negatively as it's not meant that way. It's clear you have done something amazing here from what is being said and as it's explained to me (in basic terms) the more impressive it sounds, but like you say, there's only so much of an artistic element you can fit into 256b and I accept that. If you every put your skills to a 4k or 64k intro, however, I'm sure I will be blown away. :) - isokadded on the 2009-09-09 12:46:34

- Skate: I don't understand the code behind demos either, but there is some visual, atmospheric, entertainment, motivational or other value I can judge. With this I get none of the above, which was the point I was making.
I'll remember to spell everything out literally in future.
btw. Apologies everyone for having a different opinion! Feel free to have a little cry or hurl abuse my way. - isokadded on the 2009-09-09 12:12:14

wade, if you expect ms-dos prods to use windows dll's, then you gotta be fucking retarded.
So it will run on an Xbox, right? - isokadded on the 2009-09-09 02:17:16

wade, you're fucking retarded.
Why, because I don't understand coding technicalities and don't pretend to?
Shame on me! - isokadded on the 2009-09-09 01:30:01

wade: oh come on! 256 bytes, for fucks sake! to put it in terms you can relate to: think what kind of image at what resolution you could pixel an image with only 256b...?
I certainly have no criticism against this intro, but I'm not a coder so it means nothing to me. For all I know it could be using megabytes worth of libraries, Windows resources or some trick...I have no way of judging except from what I see.

- I see potential in this group, but those colours really need toning down...a lot!

- Although it could be done in realtime, there's not always a coder available, and when there is, there's no guarantee he can bring a designer's vision to life.
It's good to see more demo designers taking advantage of the wild category.
As for the demo...it had a good pace, some good music and some decent modelling, but was too garish for my liking I'm afraid. - isokadded on the 2009-09-08 16:28:48

- I've always felt that greyscale demos look cheap, but I did like the 2d design a lot and there were some nice looking 3d scenes too.
Music was that awful generic drum and bass track I've heard on a million other demos and really didn't match the demo.
Just ok this time. I think these guys can do much better. - isokadded on the 2009-09-07 23:05:02
- demo MS-Dos ninja 2 by Melon [web] & Scoop
- I've not voted?? This is an absolute masterpiece! The work that went into the animation is astounding and it does it with such style and a beautifully dry wit.
Music and sound effects are excellent too. I wish there were more original demos like this one. - rulezadded on the 2009-09-07 22:52:30
