- i like "harmi" better. but thats because i generally dont like that per-se-anticapitalism thing. generalisation is never a good thing.
sure, the anglo-american politics are running mad these days and years, but (bloody) revolution is never a solution. see russia 1917. - sucksadded on the 2003-05-19 22:28:28

- nevertheless i consider this compilation of tunes as a kinda enlightment. kb, you might have a point saying that mt doesnt really know the SID (he's from the amiga and started to experiment around with c64 only recently afaik), but perhaps that's what makes his music so special. c64 music needs a new approach instead of copying decade-old techniques. i'm not active on c64 myself, but i keep myself updated on new musicdisks/compos reaularely, i'm really bored of the same cliché synth sidtune stuff that sounds like 10 years ago. if c64 demos advance visually, why shouldnt music advance, adopting new styles? 80s sids just copied the style of its time's synthpop, so it's only logical that the new generation of innovative sid composers (of which i would like to specially point out goto80/ht) get influenced by new music styles like drum'n'bass. perhaps mt is still not perfect when it comes to techniques, but i like this nu-skool approach on sids very much. i never heard approaches to garage/2step (hello molly) or a remake of a classical reggae riddim (stalag sketch) on sid... another thing that makes the tunes so speciall is the usade of the bass synth, which is so different to "normal" sidtunes and rather reminds on uk dance music (garage, dnb) basslines. this is really fresh and stands out inmidst all this retro stuff (which i surely appreciate too, but new moves have to be made).

- lovely sid music by mortimer "master of all trackers" twang. style-wise going from more-or-less traditional to electronics, garage and even dancehall/reggae. a must-hear!

- demo Amiga AGA fake elektronik lightshow by Ephidrena
- quite cool, especially the fact of doing a nice up-to-date designed and effect-equipped demo without ppc.

- WOW! one of the best newschool amiga demos i ever saw. of course, it's a bit overloaded and incoherent, but it's clear to see that mawi are just bursting from fresh talents. all elements together give a quite confusing impression, but each element is a masterpiece in itself. respect!
