- demo ZX Spectrum ZX Clive [Tribute] by Polish ZX All Stars
- This feels vaguely familiar :)
Many thanks for making a worthy tribute. - rulezadded on the 2021-12-29 12:12:19
- demo ZX Spectrum Possible by Acid Maker & Jakub Husak
- Nice to see a new pixel-style demo in 2021.
I hope it will be possible to see more from you, guys! - rulezadded on the 2021-12-29 10:54:08
- demo Commodore 64 Submerged by Hoaxers & Wrath Designs [web]
- Sublime graphics and very good sound track. I find the concept overstretched, so could not relate fully, esp. to some of the text, but consistent theme is always a plus. I just wish more effect ideas would not be just scroller variations.

- demo SNES/Super Famicom nu by Elix
- I am sorry I did not like this a very long time ago. Of course it rules and I frankly don't care how it was done under the bonnet. This is what a modern retrodemo should look like, but very rarely does.
The thing is, I desperately want to steal pieces of it, and it took me a while to develop enough courage to even admit it. I actually still want to steal the sliced pyramid, but I'm working on this with my psychoanalyst. - rulezadded on the 2021-11-10 13:26:38
- demo Amiga OCS/ECS Andy and Blondie by Finity Games
- I am probably the TA, as I know exactly what this refers to. It is not easy to like this, as it is very lighthearted and unfocussed, and not really funny. But I like the consistence of it, it did not overstay its welcome, and, in any case, we need more Andy in our lives.

- demo MS-Dos/gus cöncept by Ümlaüt Design [web]
- I don't think you need to justify anything tbh. This is very much a love letter to the late 1990s demos. It is not perfect (they weren't either). It is nostalgic, the reference is clear and the standard of visuals is actually comparable to the majority of demos from the era. This would be one of the remembered ones if it was released back than, so I do not really understand the criticism of insufficient technicality.
I love multilayered design from this era, and was tempted to replicate it on several occasions. It is not that hard to replicate. Two real issues with these demos are 1. while they are consistent stylistically, they are rarely coherent, and 2. somehow, the vast majority of these demos are surprisingly substance-free, just pure shiny surface. Somehow, making this kind of demo twenty years later, and still keeping it incoherent and substance-free feels a bit underwhelming. - rulezadded on the 2021-09-17 23:50:21

Frankly, I want more, but I am a sucker for good pixels. And these pixels are insanely good. - rulezadded on the 2021-08-31 00:46:39
- 4k ZX Spectrum GOA 3000 by Serzhsoft & Extreme Entertainment
- I am not sure if it is a really worthwhile exercise, but why the hell not? Please don't take this as a criticism. There are demos that I'd love to re-make myself too. Oh, the temptation.
Also, as a coder, I am really looking forward to seeing all these slow chunks tamed for a single screen presentation.
Why did you not consider adding something with 1K to to spare? I'm sure I would. Also, did ZX0 really win competition vs Shrinkler here? wow, if true. - rulezadded on the 2021-08-31 00:42:05
- 16k ZX Spectrum Dalthonizm by Joker [web]
- Very unexpected, very original, very cool! Nice flow, excellent music, the whole package. I really liked your work here, and hoping to see more in the future.

- 256b MS-Dos Project Eden by Marquee Design [web]
- I think I'd prefer this without sound at all, but the visuals are amazing. Simple, effective and very stylish.
