- 256b MS-Dos somehow by jetlag & fsqrt [web]
- As the organizer of the compo, I'd like to express my sincere apologies for f*cking up the sound.

- demo Commodore 64 Lunatico by lft [web]
- So this is what an ASD demo for C64 would look like.

- So you found yourself a pretty cool platform that's powered by a 144 MHz Cortex-M7. And the first thing you do is rewriting a demo that was originally made for 33 MHz 486s?!
Don't get me wrong, I really like ports/conversions of popular demos to quirky inferior hardware, but with emphasis on "inferior". Here, you got >5x the processing power, have to fill ~30% less pixels than the original and don't even need to take care of sound at all. I honor the fact that you had to make do with just 128k of RAM and went to great lengths to make it as accurate as possible, but still, it's a rather boring conversion. It doesn't offer anything that makes it stand out on its own. - sucksadded on the 2016-08-16 13:46:51
- 4k Windows Uplifting by Poo-Brain [web] & Inque [web]
- I *love* the landscape and the chalk cliffs. Reminds me of my own trip to southern England three years ago. Sure, the rendering isn't perfect, but it's a 4k FFS.

- demo Linux Windows Wild Arrakis by Kakiarts [web] & Top Right Bottom Left [web]
- The second demo for the Apple iPod nano (1st generation). Was supposed to released shortly after the first demo (nano) at tUM 2006, but was abandoned. But hey, that's what Nordlicht's gravedigger compo is for, isn't it? So it has been brought back from the attic a decade later, the missing scenes have been filled up with something that fits the topic at least a bit, with lots of recycling of existing effects.

- demo Windows Monolith by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- In general, this wasn't really my cup of tea, but the final scene really, really, REALLY rocks.

- demo Windows Ratavah by Pyrotech
- Do I have to feel bad for thinking that this was the best demo of the Assembly democompo this year? I hope not. Sure, it's far from perfect both technically and artistically and maybe there's too much Avatar and Far Cry visuals and ASD music in it. However, I got this feeling of "boy, I want to be there" while watching, and this is certainly better than the impressions I had with the higher-ranked demos, which were just "nice particles/toruses/lasers".

- 64k Windows 905509 by Stroboholics
- The visuals are simply beautiful, but this whole childish strobo stuff drags it down to almost-piggy levels. If the whole into was paced like the first 20 seconds, it would be a double thumb up.
