- demo Amiga AGA Metropolice by Ghostown & Rave Network Overscan [web]
- This is really great but for some reason I had initially almost no memory of this from BP and I _did_ watch this completely sober ;). Maybe it was the bad scene poetry that rejected everything from my memory. Bad scene poetry aside, this demo has great design, effects, music and graphics :). And the 8-bit part is really entertaining ;).

- 4k Windows Rainbow Flows by Traction [web]
- I had pretty much forgotten about this one, which is a shame because it's very nice. Really beautiful :). Great music and I love the particles. I just wish it was longer and had a second theme to add some variation.

- 8k Windows size doesn't matter by Coda [web]
- Not bad :). Of course, not the best one I've seen but kudos for having chip style music in a world of softsynths. Nice mood overall :).

- wild Animation/Video you need to listen. by Nosfe [web]
- Although, I have to say that even though the video is soft and mellow and stuff it's not that emotive. I dunno if that was the intention or not.

- I can put this on and get instant satisfaction. Well... At least after a couple of minutes when the soundtrack "kicks in" for real ;). This stuff always works for me.

- Regarding the soundtrack: I definitely thought it used a lot of samples (seriously, did anyone really think that these guys did their own 70:ies style recording and THEN sampled it?) but that the different samples were from different places to such an extent that crediting all the sources would be too tedious. However, if you sample so heavily from one source it would be nice to see something like "Music: Varia (samples from Socrates)" in the credits. I mean, I love the original and I'm glad that people pointed it out. Now I have two musical artists to check out :). I don't mind at all that people sample other music, personally I think that the demoscene is a lot about cultural rehashing. Have you listened to demo soundtracks from late 80:ies/early 90:ies? Fuckin' italo/Front 242 drivel ;D... Nah, but seriously, being inspired by and using other musical sources is completely valid - and sometimes necessary to achieve a certain sound - but pointing out the source material is just simple courtesy!
My thumb remains and I love the soundtrack just as much as before. I just wish that people would be more careful to acknowledge the original artists so that the audience would be able to enjoy the original music as well. - isokadded on the 2010-04-09 09:40:58
- 64k Windows Actuator by Conspiracy [web]
- Having watched this again I have to say that this is not bad. Not bad at all :D. I loved the soundtrack (hard to believe it's for a 64k :D) and the visuals was a pretty close match to the audio :). The visual style was very neat and I liked the direction. Better than many other clunky 64ks I've seen. The weird thing is that I didn't remember seeing it before.
