- Trackers ARE demotool, and you took FT2 as example who is exactly THE tool who can be called "demotools" because it was done for demoscene BY demosceners (Triton if you have heard of them and you know demoscene before windows & 3d accelerated demos...)
First of all, trackers are not demoscene exclusive tools per definition (as I've already explained to some extend in the mpt thread), and secondly, you obviously don't know anything at all about me, since you funnily enough try to tell me who triton was. And finally, the case is settled already, so stop arguing about that. :) - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 22:30:39
- 4k Linux Windows Sapph-Fire by 0x80
- Looked totally unimpressive on the big screen, but actually it's quite nice.

- A tracker (or more precisely, a music sequencer with a tracker interface) is not a scene tool per definition. As said, with the same argument you could add commercial tools like renoise too. That's why I added only trackers that have been made by sceners or scene groups (st3/fc, ft2/triton, amusic/elyssis...).
But don't get mad about it: The whole demotool category is messed up anyway. ;) - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 12:10:53
- demotool Windows ModPlug Tracker
- This is not made by a scener, nor used by much sceners. Also it's actually an open source project these days. But I guess when you add ft2 and it2, some people are tempted to add everything that smells like a tracker. So go on and add madtracker and renoise, buzz and psycle. *cough*
Anyway, to do this software justice: A lot of file formats well supported, you can open and edit multiple songs at once, also it's the first(?) tracker with rudimentary VST support etc.
On the other hand, it exploits common file formats like XM by including stuff that goes beyond the original specs, making it troublesome to process mpt saved xm/it files in other mod players or the original editors.
(Oh, and saving to mp3 directly is silly, render your song into a normalised wave and use an external app for mp3/ogg conversion). - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 11:53:35
- demotool MS-Dos Digitrakker by N-Factor
- Probably the most ambitious dos tracker project. Neat interface, a truckload of supported file formats and plenty of features.
Never really gained much popularity though. - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 10:03:48
- demotool MS-Dos MS-Dos/gus Impulse Tracker 2.14 by Jeffrey Lim
- It's so sad.
Impulse tracker had the advanced features and Fasttracker the unmatched usability. Too bad those worlds never merged to form the ultimate tracker (and now, it's too late anyway...).
Personally, I only used it as an xm player because it2 managed to play them in 16bit quality on my crappy soundcard and ft2 didn't. - isokadded on the 2004-09-05 09:34:32

- A SID tracker for your PC.
Sports a puritan and malicious keyboard controlled interface that needs some practice to get used to.
Nice toy, but there's not much sense making c64-sounds with an emulator
Cross-development? You can export the tunes quite easily to something the 64 can compute. - isokadded on the 2004-09-04 21:34:11

- I shalt reload a prod page before hitting submit. :)
Btw, the interface is completely done in textmode (80x50), and it still runs fine. Gonna make a screenshot. - isokadded on the 2004-09-04 19:45:02
