- demo Windows Glon 243 by Cocoon [web]
- Excellent in every way. Curious how I never voted for it...

- demo Windows Spaceflowers (that mess with our genes like DNA) by Excess [web] & Progress [web] & kvasigen [web]
- Indeed, this looks so '97, the huge pixels were hard on my eyes...
but it's nicely designed, it has good artwork, the 3d engine seems solid and the music rocks!

- Oh, on both systems, I did not use windows media player. I never use that shitty piece of software anyway - I watch my pr0n with divX player or winamp3 :-)

- musicdisk Windows Twisted Chipster #1 by Fairlight [web]
- I am a bug report:
System #1:
Intel Celeron 1.1->1.46GHz (256K cache), VIA 133T, 512MB PC133 SDRAM, NVidia Geforce 4Ti 4200/64Mb, Windows XP SP1, DX 8.1, 30.82 detonators WHQL
System #2:
Intel Pentium 4 1800->2400 (512Kb cache), Intel 845 chipset, 256 MB PC133 SDRAM, NVidia TNT2 Ultra/32Mb, Windows 2000 SP3, DX 8.1, 30.82 detonators WHQL
On both systems, both musicdisk versions exibit 50-70% CPU ulilisation, even with the visuals disabled. I prefered to assume that you forgot to put a sleep() somewhere than to assume that your player consumes hundreds of times more CPU resources than the ones on the original machines (c64, 486 etc.).
Hope that helps :-) - isokadded on the 2002-10-16 15:08:20

- "- Mommy, mommy! That musicdisk ate all my CPU!"
"- Why don't you put it to sleep(); ?"
Although I am a CPC nostalgic myself, the tunes are quite good, the interface too. But it would be nice if it let my 1GHz+ computer do other things as well, for both the sw and hw versions... Also, an option to disable the 3d effects on the hw version (by clicking in the circle maybe?) would be perfect :-)

- demo Windows Future Confused by Procreation
- Nice effects, gfx and music. The rewind thing was good, some effects could last shorter.

- demo Windows tHe S by Suspend [web]
- I had the feeling the demoscene died, and then this came along...
It's been a long time since I saw such good effects bound in a demo. Nice and original. It only has one flaw: they recycled one scene to fill the gap until the music ends. It would be better the other way around (cut some music).
Finally, it went to the end on my <shameless_bragging>brand new GF4</shameless_bragging> :-P - rulezadded on the 2002-10-15 01:30:38

- Timeless!
As always, simple ideas are the best. Just see how it does what it does. Yet, the result is fascinating!
I can't believe I never commented on this... - rulezadded on the 2002-10-14 18:38:04
