- We use winmm all the time, because it's available everywhere.
Do you use any fancy features from XAudio?
I would recommend: Make your stuff run at least on a vanilla Win 8.1 (i.e. fresh Win 8.1 install + graphics driver, no additional dx user runtimes) - if you want to go crazy, also support a fallback for d3dcompiler_43.dll or something like that - so it will run on a lot of older systems (otherwise you will certainly get some strange thumbdowns).
Drop XAudio if possible and switch to something more classic. - isokadded on the 2014-12-31 14:22:35

- I'm really sorry - now after watching it - that it got disqualified.
Tried to find the appropriate DLLs for the organizers to get it run on a machine without the June 2010 SDK - no chance (and the others ate my Schnitzel in the meanwhile!).
June 2010 DX is deprecated - please avoid this dependency.
But on Win8.1 d3dcompiler_47 is available ;)
And what the heck do you need XAudio for? - rulezadded on the 2014-12-30 18:12:26

- Nice effect and a lot of triangles.
I still find running browser demos locally somewhat over-complicated, I prefer real binaries.
We don't have time for this. Maybe provide something that automatically starts the damn browser with the parameters you need (don't we have a demotool for this?).

- Flyby or not... My favorite demo from the compo. Plus: Nice performance, even on "Melt it!" (whatever that setting does).

Not really my kind of music.
Could have been better with cubes ;) - rulezadded on the 2014-11-09 12:19:30

- KICKS.
Minor drawbacks (I'm only complaining since you are highly trained professionals): Kind of long loading time without loading bar and massive frame rate drops in the tree scene (<= 18fps on GTX 980). - rulezadded on the 2014-11-09 12:12:02
