- Love the spraypaint stuff in the intro...
shazz: IIRC, RealSpectrum outputs lossless RLE-encoded AVI (i.e. basically a stream of BMP images), which is why 3-4 minutes of 16-colour 320x200 video comes out at 100Mb - yes, transcoding would be a good idea :-) - rulezadded on the 2007-09-10 11:11:07

- After re-watching, I have to say this isn't a giant leap forward from Iconoclast for me. I think the drive to cram in more and more into 8 (and a bit) minutes resulted in places where the change in mood was a bit abrupt, even if the transitions themselves were flawless. There are definitely some spine-tinglingly brilliant scenes in here (the carvings and Archmage's zoomer) but it wasn't the continuous sustained jawdropper that Iconoclast was.
But, expectations aside, how can you not thumb this up? There are still masters at work here, and it shows. - rulezadded on the 2007-08-12 15:03:20

- If this had been out around 1996 then it would have been awesome (well duh), but in comparison to other releases of 2000 it just doesn't really measure up technically or stylistically - as smoothly put together as it is, in the end it just boils down to being an effect show, and things had really moved on from that.

- The only thing stopping this from being a surefire scene.org Breakthrough Performance award candidate is the fact that he's actually done bloody good stuff for the last two Assemblies that just hasn't been noticed.
Nah, who am I kidding... it's *still* a surefire scene.org Breakthrough Performance award candidate. - rulezadded on the 2007-08-08 01:16:07

- Probably not such a hardcore hardware hack as it appears at first glance (once you know what X/Y mode is), but mega thumb up for the concept, the execution, and most of all, the fact that it isn't just "I DID A DEMO ON AN OSCILLOSCOPE, LOLZ" but is actually an excellently designed demo in its own right (with pretty good music too).
Best artistic use of sinewaves since Iterate... hmm, I have a theory here. Maybe everyone is born with the ability to do awesome things with sinewaves but loses it by the age of 18? :-) - rulezadded on the 2007-08-08 00:56:41
