as for thumbing purely on the artistic merit of the production, I thumbed down because my only reaction to it at breakpoint basically was that i didn't like the way it glorified criminal damage, and seemingly tried to make out graffiti artists as some kind of hero. The whole thing just annoyed me. - isokadded on the 2005-12-06 18:12:50

Wow. Thats a really intelligent argument in favour of drawing over other peoples property.
I have nothing against graffiti style art. I have nothing against legitimate usage of that kind of art (i recall a skate shop paying a local graffiti artist to decorate their building, and the result was really cool), but I really can't condone criminal damage, which is all this sort of thing amounts to.
If you spray private property, thats really bad. The owner has to spend time and effort to clean it off or repaint their property. Would you like me to come and ruin your car? Or paint over the front of your house?
If you spray public property, well thats different. I don't necessarily have any problem with "sticking it to the man", but when its my tax money that has to pay to have it cleaned off, I'd prefer it if the graffiti wasn't sprayed in the first place.
I can't see any argument in defence of illegal graffiti (or "criminal damage" as it is properly termed) that can't be dismissed as immature or pathetic. - sucksadded on the 2005-12-06 18:08:33

- Do OSDM prods really need to be added here? Do they have any value as demoscene productions?
The answer to both is, of course, no. - sucksadded on the 2005-12-06 17:05:45
