- demo Windows Final Reality by Remedy
- thom: a software 'demo' to benchmark 3d hardware accelerators would not make too much sense, now, would it... :-) Maybe your real problem is that this should not be on pouet, but that's another story.
To second reptile's answer, this was out to benchmark 3d cards like voodoo1/2, nvidia riva 128, rendition verite 1000, ati rage 3d pro etc. The video ram on those babies was 8mb max (for the voodoos and the riva128 if I recall). Finally, I think it contains a small benchmark to stress the agp bus by using textures up to (brace yourself) 64mb. So there you go :-) - isokadded on the 2002-11-09 01:48:22

- 64k Windows subverse zero by Headcrash [web]
- OK, the one thing that kills this intro is the music. Really. It plainly sucks. If it was any better, you could easily oversee the rest of the problems:
- Slow code on a P4 2.4/TNT2 Ultra
- Long scenes
- Unimaginative Fade ins/outs
- Questionable texture quality
- Other minor design issues
After all that bashing though, I can say that it actually looks rather interesting. Especially the part with the water. I have a feeling this could become *very* good with some additional work.
bottomline: piggy.

- I liked it very much. The design is very good for an intro. imho, the last scene needed some moving particles and a slow zoom to demonstrate motion.

- demo MS-Dos Second Reality by Future Crew
- Nice idea, that is to go to the 9fingers/arte/stateoftheart/desertdream/whatever pages and thumb them down because the only place where amiga is alive these days is on "lame" PC UAE emulators...

- demo Windows Petroleo by BoaH [web]
- A bit short on effects but excellent design, music/gfx/code all fit together tightly. A must download. As kb_ stated, mipmapping was disabled most likely by intention and I think it worked in my case. :-)

- Never seen the original, this one looks nice and the music rocks. Kudos to macaw for porting it to windblows, if only he had the courage to add a compressed image loader ;-)

- demo Windows Dream Equation by Floppy
- I liked it. It does have some timing issues, but I liked the music alot (especially the first part), the colors and the wireframes. It looks wonderfull with anti-aliasing btw. Oh, and physics rulez :-)

- Well, the idea of putting effects over video is not new. This seems interesting at first, it ends up being an abstract animation that you can see at a club. The idea of using divx is rather bad, a different codec would probably increase filesize but replay would be alot better. Mind you, the video is only 700kb, the music is the biggest thing in this demo. Speaking of music, the score is nothing to write home about and could have easily been made a module. This way, a 12mb mp3 could have been avoided. Finally, it seems that the demo does not quit at the end.
