- demo Amiga AGA Atari Falcon 030 Ocean Machine by The Black Lotus [web]
- Completely great demo. Just a shame that TBL relies so heavily on 3D modelling. Without good 3D source material their demos would be a bit.. well, they wouldn't win. :) Or so it would seem anyway. That's probably why it was so nice to see the voxel scenes, even though they were really blocky and not entirely beautiful - finally a new effect. ;) But yeah, excellent dancing ninja. Boobs could have been bigger.

- 4k Amiga AGA Evil by Illi Recentes ImperatoreS
- I suppose we wanted it to be ugly and noisy. But you know, rather than being so negative, you could try and consider what's actually IN the intro, considering it's a 4k one. Anyway.. ;)

- demo invitation Windows "Aliens Ate My Demomaker" - breakpoint 2005 invitation by mfx [web] & Kewlers [web]
- This demo verbally abused my 3D card, complaining it needed 3 multitexturing units, and that 2 just weren't enough. You called it "shitty" and hurt its feelings. On behalf of my 3D card i would like to say "2 multitexturing units should be enough for anyone".
I browsed the JPEG images in the data/ directory though, and they looked funky, which is the ONLY reason this gets a thumbs up. Everything else about this demo sucks ass! Ass! ASS dammit! - rulezadded on the 2005-01-07 23:01:57

- Optimus is right, if I want to quit, I'll quit. Like I said, it's an emotional decision, not a rational one - so no point in arguing.
BUT, I do appreciate all the feedback. It's really touching. And thank you, Scamp, for your reaction. I was really missing some kind of reaction from the organizers - any reaction really, to show that you care. And apparently you do, which means a lot. So woohoo.
Anyway, I'll leave myself inactive and concentrate on my studies for now, and maybe my creative urges will grow stronger than my distaste for the so-called evolution of the Amiga scene, eventually.
Again, truckloads of thank yous for the feedback. Please enjoy the demo some more. I'll see about that 16 MB full version soon enough. - isokadded on the 2004-04-21 14:56:40

- I'm not being silly, Dr. Xeron, I've just come to a decision. If the scene were just a waste of time, that'd be alright, cause that's what time is for. But I feel it's become much worse than that.
I've delt with PPC productions in the Amiga compos for years now and still contributed to MS/BP despite what I saw as messed up compos. A Pegasos demo is beyond what I can deal with, and my disappointment in the BP organizers (who I consider to be the people most vital to the Amiga scene right now) is more than I can bear.
Heartcore was a lot of hard work. I could live with no reward, but the way the compo turned out, it feels like I'm being punished. So.. I'll continue to be present and do various things that are scenish, but no more serious stuff.
Oh, and I do admit that this is an emotional decision. I'm only human you know. - isokadded on the 2004-04-20 22:24:46

- Thank you for the feedback. I enjoyed making the demo, and I hated watching it on the big screen, for obvious reasons..
Those of you who aren't able to run it on your 16 MB machines - don't feel bad. The demo wants about 28 MB of fast RAM, and there wasn't time to include a memory test of any sort. It just assumes that AllocMem always works. Hence the crashes.
The demo was meant to run on 16 MB, but I was coding way past the deadline and just didn't have any time. I may do a 16 MB version which is also less eager to crash if your Amiga isn't fast enough (delicate timing tricks rule). I might even add all the parts that I had to leave out.
Anyway, this is most likely my last production ever, so please enjoy it. - rulezadded on the 2004-04-20 10:30:09
