- 4k Windows Air on a Polygon by Rift
- What kb said. The lighting looks way too bleak for Bach's Air imo. Otherwise enjoyable though nothing earth shattering.

Best music in the the whole party, loved it. Starfield is from shadertoy right? The same one the Assembly 1k winner uses? - rulezadded on the 2016-08-15 19:18:04

- Really ilked this1, very contemporary looking and fresh. Glad to see someone thinking outside the typical demoscene territory.

- Punqtured: Aaahhh very cool! Indeed that was a bit of a hasty assumption on my part. Lovely physical modelling (at least partially) then I presume

- demo Windows Memorial by Guideline [web]
- One of my favorites in the compo, primitive but effective. The music one of the most haunting and depressing pieces I've ever heard in a demo. Magnificent.

- Super nice instruments, I have to give Clinkster a proper shot :). I'd like to say "nice terrain" but... it's really not that nice. The geometry is fine but there's a LOT more to improve in the shading department. I do like the ambition though, not trivial to pull this off in 4k. I also like the birds as a detail.

- demo Windows smaze™ by Still [web]
- Quite a bit better seeing it properly, and not on the unreliable stream. Good atmosphere, excellent dark ambient, solid (but not amazing) editing and composition. Feels way shorter than three minutes, that's a good thing. Not without criticism though...
1. In general too lowpoly, I think it works against the atmosphere, as in most recent previous Still demos.
2. Related to that, I still dislike the use of airborne polygon garbage, not necessarily the idea but somehow it just hasn't worked for me in these demos (I really liked the formation of the buildings though).
3. Also similarly to point no.1, the lighting is way too primitive, working against the intended atmosphere. Pre-tooll Still demos seemed to be better on this area ;)
4. I'm also not sure on the rotating camera. I get the intention but the disorientation becomes too literal, probably due to the framing which cuts out too much of the geometry. Just straight orientation with a few cuts to different angles I feel would've worked better. The movement also feels too fast at times, though I'm not sure if it would've worked better slower.

Some of the best editing and camerawork (as in, a real camera) I have seen to come from the scene. - rulezadded on the 2016-08-14 14:40:30
- 1k Windows Eraserhead by Prismbeings
- ts: I agree, I was very aware that the intro is very sensitive to the conditions in which it's viewed at, which is as close as possible from down angle in high resolution and preferable not in too high fps. The compo in that regard wasn't disastrous but not ideal either. It's an illusion after all, the environment matters :)
