- Just impeccable. That tuneage. That typography. That general style. That sync. Whoa.
Let's find something to nitpick tho... uh... ok, that slight drop in tension in the middle with the chrome sphere, and the DOF looks somewhat lo-fi sometimes (and not sure about those quick focus pulls).
Back to feeling destroyed tho. :) - rulezadded on the 2017-04-28 13:37:53
- 64k Windows Eidolon by Poo-Brain [web]
- Ok, let's address the one bad point first: The pacing. Seriously, I felt kinda thrown back into the era of late-90s flybys and their misguided delusions of grandeur about how important their corridors and corners are. Plus, the dramatic music that really didn't fit the second slowest pursuit scene after this :P
Apart from that: Whoa. So that's what you guys are capable of. Can't understand why people are complaining about the minimalistic visuals - With the right shading they have a charme to it and this intro really delivers on that front. Plus extra shoutouts to Punqtured, Virgill and Gopher - I was looking forward to hear 64Klang2 in full action and you guys delivered hard. - rulezadded on the 2017-04-28 13:23:03
- 4k Windows final stage by 0x4015
- A worthy third part of a trilogy of sorts.
What others said is true tho: When you know its predecessors, the impact is somewhat diminished. It kinda feels like the story of 2nd Stage Boss transplanted into the world of Optical Circuit, and the music again feels more generated than actually composed - good enough but in contrast to some of the other 4k intros at Revision this was a letdown.
But all criticism aside it still looks gorgeous and people really shouldn't underestimate how hard it is to get a proper "story" into that size (turns out animation data really compresses worst of all), plus having enough bytes left for that ending and its effects. Well done. :) - rulezadded on the 2017-04-28 12:49:18
- 4k Windows Absolute Territory by Prismbeings
- In contrast to some of the previous commenters: More high pitched sine waves please, even if only for that tangible, liberating feeling when they stop :)
Apart from that I concur with most people here: The most successful intros are successful because they manage to hit a sweet spot, a local maximum of what's possible and how to present it in a consistent, thought out way embracing the limitations and converting them into style, and you hit the 2017 version of that sweet spot perfectly. If this doesn't climb to the absolute top of 4k intros soon, blame the scene for not embracing the gritty industrial style as much as past more easily consumable offerings :) - rulezadded on the 2017-04-28 12:40:20
- demo SEGA Genesis/Mega Drive Overdrive 2 by Titan [web]
- Can't really comment on any of the technical stuff so I'll just say hooray for the perfect pacing. This demo keeps you on the heel for seven minutes and just continues to deliver, a feat that's pretty rare especially in the oldschool arena nowadays. Perfect ending for a Revision saturday night, thanks :)

- 8k Windows Phobos by Aberration Creations
- Very nice soundtrack (very much reminds me of the end tune of The Fulcrum tho), and that penultimate effect really kicked butt on the big screen. :)

- demo Windows sp04 - Hello, Kevin - A Dental Journey by Spacepigs [web]
- Quote:
What i personally saw in it was a depiction of anxiety, for which the teeth are a metaphor (in fact teeth falling out is a common nightmare that people have when under stress). The teeth go out of control when his anxiety goes out of control.
Aaaaand suddenly the whole thing makes a disturbing lot of sense. *headdesk* - isokadded on the 2017-04-20 13:01:55
- demo Windows Intrinsic 2 by Scum Of The Earth
- IMHO this gem was really underrated at the party but then this was at a time where most people probably already lost their sense for subtlety. :)
I really like the clean rendering, especially combined with the soundtrack - ps, I must disagree, I think minimal techno fits the scenes way better than drone :) - rulezadded on the 2017-04-19 17:11:44

- Ooooh shiny <3
Tuneage is nice and fits well with the other Rainbow Clash tracks but somehow the mix is annoying. It could use some reengineering, then it'd be really cool. - rulezadded on the 2017-04-19 16:57:52
