• Well, i didn't know that p4's denormalisation level was much higher than older processors.

• I've not checked if the numbers go too small but the problem should occurs on amd processors too and i got ~25 fps on mine (1800 too) but that's possible.

• The fpu of the p4 is a disaster and in 1k i had no room to use the mmx or sse2 instructions (too big) as i'm using an amd processor myself, some people told me about the slowdown on intel processors when the effect was completed and ready, my natural lazyness did the rest.
