- ferris: pretty much, but I'm still not super comfortable with OpenGL and considering the time constraints I wanted to spend minimal time writing a rendering pipeline and solving issues with it ("rengine" is relatively low level and sm who didn't have time to participate tends to take care of that). Visy demonstrated OF to me and it seemed very attractive so I decided to try that out. Had I started earlier I probably would've gone the usual route but I didn't want to take any chances :)
lj: no good reason really, just a lot of unnecessary OF components compiled into the exe... certainly could be a lot smaller but it wasn't a priority. - isokadded on the 2016-11-06 04:10:13

- Both issues are known. OpenFrameworks doesn't seem to provide a straightforward way to set up a proper fullscreen screenmode, at least according to the documentation. I knew about the segfault in the end too, didn't care enough to fix but I'll take care of that too in a final hopefully.

- demo Commodore 64 Total by Extend
- One of the best Extend demos and that's saying something. Would've absolutely warranted a higher placement in the compo.

- demo Commodore 64 Lunatico by lft [web]
- C64 demo with a consistent theme! And it's even executed well, damn. Preemptively calling out that this should've won.

- demo Commodore 64 The Phoenix Code by Bonzai
- Missing almost any overarching design which leaves me with a very disjointed impression. This is also reflected in the lack of supporting graphics which makes the demo look... well, a bit cheap. The pixel graphics there were, mainly the logos I didn't find too appealing. Despite that most individual parts are still enjoyable (had to skip majority of the scrollers though), and one thing there's definitely attention paid to are the transitions and animations. Very traditional approach to the music side of things, but superbly executed, maybe even the standout aspect of the demo. I particularly loved the last track before the credits, but really all pieces are great to varying extents.

- ferris: Nope, just one GPU here. For reference Fermi is in a similar 15-25 range and Dlyeum is a solid 60 with occasional drops, both at 1080p. Mind you though my CPU is still from 2007. As said I don't think the performance here is lacking really in any way, it's not something I look for in demos to begin with either :).

- I'm sitting pretty comfortably in the 15-25fps range (good enough for me) at 1080p on a Radeon 270 which should be somewhat comparable to a 870M.
